The Federal Ministry of Health in Berlin reported on Tuesday that, following the Ebola outbreak in the Congo and Uganda, the US authorities had requested the German government’s assistance in treating a US citizen. The patient contracted Ebola in Congo, and while the German government has pledged its support, the individual will be admitted and treated at the Charité hospital’s specialized isolation unit in Berlin. Preparations were made on Tuesday with all involved stakeholders to facilitate this process.
