FC Bayern Munich battled back to a 3-3 draw against Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-final second leg, securing advancement after winning the first leg 2-1.
The scoring began early when Arda Güler put Real Madrid ahead in the first minute with a long-range effort following a mistake by Manuel Neuer. Bayern responded quickly, leveling the score from a corner kick scored by Aleksandar Pavlovic in the sixth minute. The action remained open throughout the match. Güler once again found the back of the net in the 29th minute with a direct free-kick. However, Bayern found an equalizer shortly after, with Harry Kane scoring from a precise pass to make it 2-2 in the 38th minute. Just before halftime, the visiting team capitalized on a lapse in the home side’s defense; Kylian Mbappé sealed a 3-2 lead for Madrid in the 42nd minute.
Following the break, Bayern increased their attacking intensity while Real adopted a counter-attacking strategy. Several good chances for Bayern went unused until the final period, which turned chaotic. In the 86th minute, Eduardo Camavinga received a yellow-red card for a foul, forcing the Spaniards to play out the last minutes with ten men. Bayern effectively exploited this advantage; Luis Díaz scored from a distance in the 89th minute to make it 3-3. Finally, in stoppage time, Michael Olise netted the decisive goal.
With this narrow victory, Bayern Munich confirmed their spot in the semifinals, where they will face title defending champions Paris Saint-Germain.
