Bayern Munich Defeats RB Leipzig 2-0 to Advance in DFB Cup

In the DFB‑Pokal quarter‑final, FC Bayern Munich beat RB Leipzig 2‑0.

The game started evenly, with Leipzig’s Christoph Baumgartner seemingly taking the lead in the fourth minute. A VAR check, however, ruled the goal off for offside. Bayern then took control of the match but did not score immediately, while Leipzig defended tightly and pressed on counter‑attacks.

In the second half Bayern found their breakthrough. After Josip Stanic was fouled by Leipzig goalkeeper Maarten Vandevoordt inside the box, Harry Kane converted a free‑kick in the 64th minute to give Munich a 1‑0 advantage. Three minutes later Luis Diaz extended the lead with a goal from a precise pass by Olise, making it 2‑0. The scoreline held for the rest of the game.

Bayern now face Werder Bremen in the league on Saturday, while Leipzig will take on VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday. The semi‑final draw for the DFB‑Pokal is scheduled for Sunday as well.
