FC Bayern Munich and German international Serge Gnabry have agreed to extend the player’s contract, which was set to expire in the summer, until 30 June 2028. The record‑holding club announced this on Thursday. Sporting director Max Eberl said, “Gnabry has grown with Bayern and is one of the team’s absolute pillars-he is extremely important both on the pitch and in the dressing room”.
In his own words, Gnabry noted: “The talks were completely positive, and to now be here for more than ten years at the end of this contract was something I never imagined when I started at Bayern”. He added that the reasons for extending include the squad, coaching staff, the club as a whole, the fans, the city and the overall environment; “I feel very comfortable at Bayern”.
Born in Stuttgart, Gnabry joined the Munich side in 2017 after spells at Arsenal and Werder Bremen. He was loaned to Hoffenheim in his first season before returning to Bayern, and has since appeared in 311 official matches for the Reds, netting 100 goals and providing 69 assists.
