Baum Remains Manager at FC Augsburg

FC Augsburg has confirmed that Manuel Baum will remain the club’s head coach. According to the club, Baum’s contract has been extended for two years, keeping him in the role until June 30, 2028.

Michael Ströll, CEO of FCA, stated that the decision was based on Manuel’s performance, mentioning that the coach has done an excellent job in all areas recently, and the club is therefore very pleased to continue the journey together. Sporting Director Benni Weber added that Baum successfully orchestrated a turnaround during a difficult period with the coaching team in the autumn of 2025. He also highlighted the team’s strong second half of the season, noting that the club achieved its third-best ranking in Bundesliga history upon finishing in ninth place. The club management expressed confidence that the current structure provides a strong foundation for a successful future.

Regarding the coaching staff, the following roles will remain unchanged: Alexander Frankenberger, Frank Fröhling, and Felix Kling will continue their service as assistant coaches, while Benedikt Brust will remain the match and video analyst. The coaching team will also be complemented by Michael Weirich, who joins as the goalkeeper coach.
