AfD Bolsters Lead Over CDU in State Election Poll Sachsen-Anhalt

According to a poll conducted by Infratest, reported by the MDR, the AfD currently leads the race for the state parliament election in Saxony-Anhalt, achieving 41% of the vote-an increase of two percentage points and thus widening their advantage over the CDU. The CDU, led by Minister President Sven Schulze, garnered 26%, marking a one-point decline compared to its reading in September 2025.

In other groups, the Linke received 12%, down one point, while the SPD remained stable at 7%. Both The Greens and the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance each received 4% of the vote. Furthermore, the FDP is projected to again fall short of entering the state parliament.

Regarding a hypothetical direct election for the Minister-President, Sven Schulze would come close to the AfD top candidate, Ulrich Siegmund. Schulze secured 36% in the poll, narrowly beating Siegmund’s 32%. Overall dissatisfaction with the current state government is notably high, with 62% of respondents rating its performance negatively.
