ADAC Prepares Big Membership Fee Increase After Six Years of Flat Rates

The roughly 22 million members of the German automobile club ADAC will likely have to brace for a significant hike in their membership fees after six years of unchanged rates, according to internal documents that Business Insider has reported.
When asked for confirmation, the club did not give specific numbers but a spokesperson said: “After six years of rising costs, the ADAC must consider a fee adjustment to continue providing members with the same level of service and quality”.
The report states that fees could rise an average of about 20 percent, with premium members facing the steepest increases. Plans announced at the club’s May general meeting-per Business Insider’s account-would raise family memberships by as much as €55 and basic memberships by a minimum of €10 per person. The new rates would take effect in 2027.
