41 Percent of Germans Question Government Stability Expect Early Collapse of Black‑Red Coalition

According to a poll by the opinion‑research institute Insa, almost every second German citizen expects the current coalition government to fall short of the regular election date in spring 2029. The “Bild” (Friday edition) reports that 41 percent anticipate that the black‑red alliance will not survive until then, whereas 38 percent think it will remain in power. A further 18 percent have no opinion on the matter.

When asked about fiscal policy, 52 percent of respondents believe the federal government will raise taxes this year, while only 13 percent expect tax cuts. Insa’s survey, conducted from 20 to 23 March, included 1,005 eligible voters.
