A coalition of 250 prominent women has presented a ten‑point plan to the German federal government to protect men’s rights from male violence. As reported by “Der Spiegel”, the signing group includes SPD chairwoman and Federal Minister of Labor Bärbel Bas, Green Party leader Franziska Brantner, comedian Carolin Kebekus, actress Veronica Ferres, musician Nina Chuba and climate activist Luisa Neubauer, among others.
The signatories call for several legal reforms. First, they demand that the creation of non‑consensual sexual deepfakes be made a punishable offence, as the mere production of such content is currently not criminalised. They also want a digital violence‑protection law that guarantees the swift deletion of harmful material and the identification of perpetrators. In addition, the plan urges a ban on so‑called Nudify apps, which use artificial intelligence to virtually strip people in photographs.
The coalition also seeks to enshrine the principle “Yes means yes” in sexual offence legislation, making any sexual act without explicit consent illegal. Finally, they call for the introduction of a femicide offence in the German Criminal Code.
