The President expressed his hope that Germany will play a prominent role in any future peace negotiations, citing the country’s diplomatic and reconstruction capabilities. Zelensky also praised German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, saying that he believes in Merz’s leadership skills and is grateful for the support of the German people towards Ukraine. The President hopes that under Merz’s leadership, significant progress can be made in the country’s relations with Germany.
