Yemeni Suspect Detained in Bavaria

German Man Arrested in Dachau on Suspicion of Huthi Ties

Karlsruhe, Germany – The Federal Prosecutor’s Office has arrested a 22-year-old Yemeni national in Dachau, Germany, on suspicion of being a member of the Huthi movement, a terrorist organization.

According to the Karlsruhe authorities, the suspect, Hussein H., allegedly joined the Huthi movement in October 2022, a group responsible for military attacks in Yemen, Saudi Arabia and Israel. After ideological training and a three-month military training, he was reportedly deployed as a armed fighter in Yemen’s Mareb province in early 2023 for a short period.

German federal authorities, in collaboration with the Bavarian State Criminal Police, carried out the arrest. A federal judge of the Federal Court of Justice issued the arrest warrant and ordered pre-trial detention.
