Will the Front Line Collapse?

A senior Austrian military official, Markus Reisner, has expressed concerns about the implications of a potential US-Russia deal on the Ukrainian conflict. In an interview, he criticized the US President’s approach, stating, “We have a President Trump who, before talking to Europeans or Ukrainians, speaks with President Putin and then coldly and power-politically delivers the outcome to his allies.”

Reisner, a frequent commentator on the military situation in Ukraine, believes that the situation on the front lines is extremely precarious and that the US has abandoned Ukraine. He hopes that the West will increase its military support to the country, but is skeptical about the ability of European armies to compensate for the potential absence of US aid.

The military expert warns that the poor morale of Ukrainian troops could worsen if news of a Trump-Putin deal spreads, potentially leading to a collapse of the front lines in eastern and southern Ukraine. Although he expects Ukraine to continue resisting Russian aggression, he does not rule out the possibility of a collapse of the front lines in the face of the current dynamics.
