On Monday morning, the CDU published the list of names of the designated ministers, state ministers and parliamentary state secretaries for the new federal government. The party announced that there was “very great approval” for this in the presidency. According to the list, Thorsten Frei will be the head of the Chancellor’s Office, Party Vice President Karin Prien will be the Federal Minister for Education, Family, Seniors, Women and Youth. The former Bundestag representative Katherina Reiche will be the Federal Minister for Economics and Energy. Patrick Schneider will take over the transport portfolio, Nina Warken the health portfolio. Johann Wadephul will be the Foreign Minister as expected. Furthermore, manager Karsten Wildberger will be the Federal Minister for Digitalization and State Modernization.
On a lower level, Christiane Schenderlein will be the State Minister for Sport and Voluntary Work, Wolfram Weimer will be the State Minister for Culture and Michael Meister will be the State Minister for Federal-State Cooperation. In the Foreign Office, Serap Güler and Gunther Krichbaum will take over the position of State Ministers.
In addition, Gitta Connemann will be the Parliamentary State Secretary and Small Business Representative. Other State Secretaries will be Stefan Rouenhoff in the Federal Ministry of Economics, Philipp Amthor and Thomas Jarzombek in the Digital Ministry, Georg Kippels and Tino Sorge in the Health Ministry, Mareike Wulf and Michael Brand in the Education Ministry, Christian Hirte in the Transport Ministry, Christoph de Vries in the Interior Ministry, Silvia Breher in the Agriculture Ministry and Matthias Hauer in the Research Ministry.
