New Leadership Takes the Helm of the Green Economy Association

In a move that is expected to bring new perspectives to the table, the Green Economy Association is set to appoint two high-profile leaders to its helm. Marie-Luise Wolff, the current chair of the energy provider Entega and former president of the German Association of Energy and Water Industries and Karl Haeusgen, the main shareholder and supervisory board chairman of the industrial company Hawe Hydraulik, are reportedly the top contenders for the position.

According to sources within the association, the two candidates will be vying for the top spot to support the transformation of the economy towards sustainability. The association’s members will make the final decision at a meeting in Berlin on June 27.

The Green Economy Association, a party-neutral but independent precursor organization, has a diverse range of member companies, including Audi, BASF, Bayer and Bosch. The appointment of new leaders is seen as a crucial step in the association’s merger with the Green Economic Dialogue, which is expected to be finalized soon.

The current co-chairs, Heike Discher and Tom Fischer, will remain part of the board, while the founders of the dialogue, Gabriele C. Klug and Thomas Gambke, will step down from the board but remain members of the association.
