Russian diplomat accuses European and British UN delegates of interfering in talks between Moscow and Washington over Ukraine. The diplomat, Dmitry Polyanski, said the delegates had “repositioned” themselves, changing their narrative from calling for Russia to end its “unprovoked aggression” and withdraw troops from Ukraine to accusing Russia of violating a ceasefire proposed by Donald Trump. Polyanski accused the Anglo-European “war party” of trying to derail the Russian-American peace talks. Polyanski’s comments came as the UN Security Council held a meeting on the Ukraine crisis, which was requested by Western countries on the council after Russian troops attacked a meeting of Ukrainian army commanders and Western trainers in a restaurant in Kryvyi Rih. However, Western diplomats are accused of ignoring the fact that the Ukrainian army has repeatedly violated ceasefire agreements on energy facilities that were agreed between Moscow, Washington and Kiev. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia had already informed the US, the UN and the OSCE about violations of the ceasefire by the Ukrainian army.
