Mitchell Weiser, a football player of SV Werder Bremen, aims to win a title with his club and has further ambitions. “I work every day towards the day it happens with Werder” he said to the “Kicker”. “Just like I also want to play with the club internationally again.”
Asked about the season’s goals, Weiser said, “We haven’t had a special meeting as a team to formulate something, but what I can say is: We’re hungry for success, and that’s noticeable.” Whether it works out with a title this year, he can’t say, but the goal remains every season.
Weiser had already celebrated two championships and a DFB Cup win as a young professional with FC Bayern (2012-2015). He has now played 214 Bundesliga games and still hopes for an invitation to the Algerian national team. “There has been contact with the officials of the federation, but not yet with the trainer Vladimir Petkovic” Weiser said. “However, as I understand it, I will get a chance. Now I hope extremely that I’ll be invited – I definitely want that.
