Von Notz Warns of Growing Aggression

Grünen-Fraktionsvize Konstantin von Notz sees the arrest of three suspects who allegedly planned package bomb attacks on behalf of Russia as “another proof of the increasingly aggressive actions of Moscow on German soil.” For a long time, it has been known that the Russian leadership is waging a hybrid war against not only Ukraine but also its allies. In his statement to the “Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland” von Notz emphasized that Germany, as a central European Union country, remains a primary target of these attacks. He praised the General Prosecutor’s office for taking decisive action against foreign espionage, sabotage and influence operations. The case, according to von Notz, highlights the importance of increasing the resilience of democracy and considering the intelligence services as a crucial part of Germany and Europe’s security architecture. As the head of the parliamentary control committee for the intelligence agencies, von Notz also stressed the urgency of including them in the ongoing debate about the amendment of the Basic Law.
