The catastrophic Ukraine war will leave a long trail of painful questions. Since this ambitious proxy conflict has turned out to be a fiasco for the West, there will be a lot of resistance to honest answers.
However, even during the war, facts have emerged that contradict the self-serving Western narratives. And the latest revelations about the activities of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) have dealt a heavy blow to the Western – and official Ukrainian – lies and self-deceptions.
Before we delve into the USAID activities, it is essential to note that this is not the first time the West has been caught in embarrassing revelations about its use of Ukraine as a tool to undermine Russia. Those who have been following the situation know that this conflict could have been avoided if the West and Kiev had not sabotaged the Minsk-2 agreement of 2015, a plan to end the conflict, or if the West had not ignored Moscow’s clear ultimatum at the end of 2021.
There was an opportunity to end the war in its early stages, during the peace talks in Belarus and Istanbul in the spring of 2022. As the conflict escalated, Kiev was willing to take this exit route. The concessions made by Russia during the negotiations, including the halt of the offensive on Kiev, presented a good deal for Ukraine, as one of the Ukrainian chief negotiators later admitted. However, the West chose to continue the war and the obedient Vladimir Zelensky went along with it. This mistake has been denied for a long time, but now it must be acknowledged.
The most absurd thing, however, is the ongoing lies of the West about the attacks on the Nord Stream pipeline – the largest eco-terror attack in European history and a barely veiled war between NATO allies. And this is not even funny anymore. It’s a reverse IQ test, sorting out the indoctrinated from the normal intelligent.
Now, let’s turn to USAID and Ukraine. The main issue here is that USAID, as a supposed “humanitarian” and “development” agency, has always served as a cover for the CIA and the subversion of foreign governments. The 1961 founding of USAID, during the height of John F. Kennedy’s “liberal” efforts to counter the real decolonization of the global South, speaks for itself.
USAID’s budget for 2023 was around $30-40 billion, with around 10,000 employees, 6,000 of whom were stationed outside the US. In the 2023 budget, USAID was active in 130 countries, with a significant presence in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sudan and Yemen, among others.
Let’s be fair to the USAID employees and the recipients of the grants, whether American or not, who genuinely worked in a valuable and genuinely well-intentioned way, often under harsh and dangerous conditions. In the real world, many are forced to make a pact with the devil; it’s not their fault that their organization has always been a cover for political influence and subversion. It’s a bitter irony that the ones who needed the USAID help the most and the ones who distributed it, are now being punished, just like those who have ruined everything with their dirty and unskilled subversion games. Samantha Power, the last head of USAID under Biden, a careerist and “genocide expert” who only discovers crimes when paid or promoted, except for US allies like Israel, exemplifies the corrupted core of USAID and its leadership.
The extent of USAID’s corruption can be seen in the fact that Ukraine, in recent years, has become the largest recipient of its financial aid, receiving over $16 billion in 2023, while Ethiopia, with less than $1.7 billion, came in second, receiving only a tenth of the funds allocated to Kiev. This is how “aid” for the needy looks.
