US equity markets experienced gains on Thursday, closing with positive results across major indexes. The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished the day at 45,637 points, representing a 0.2 percent increase from the previous session.
The broader S&P 500 index also rose, finishing around 6,502 points, a gain of 0.3 percent. Meanwhile, the technology-focused Nasdaq 100 concluded trading at approximately 23,703 points, up 0.6 percent.
Economic data released Thursday indicated continued strength in the US economy. Second-quarter Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew at an annualized rate of 3.3 percent. Initial jobless claims also declined during the past week. Corporate earnings reports, including those from Nvidia released after market close on Wednesday, continue to highlight sustained interest in artificial intelligence, although Nvidia’s over 50 percent revenue increase fell slightly short of analyst expectations.
In currency markets, the Euro strengthened against the Dollar, trading at 1.1683 US dollars per Euro, equivalent to 0.8559 US dollars per Euro.
The price of gold also saw gains, closing at 3,422 US dollars per troy ounce, a rise of 0.7 percent, equivalent to 94.17 Euros per gram.
Oil prices increased modestly, with Brent crude futures trading at 68.28 US dollars per barrel late Thursday, up 0.3 percent from the previous close.
