Washington D.C. – US President Donald Trump emphasized the importance of maintaining a delicate balance in his interactions with Ukrainian and Russian leaders in order to achieve a peace agreement between the two nations.
Speaking alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office, Trump stated that a hard stance against Russian President Vladimir Putin would be counterproductive in achieving a settlement. Trump claimed that he is not aligned with Putin, nor is he with anyone else, but rather with the United States of America and the world at large.
Trump’s remarks came as he and Zelensky engaged in a heated discussion about the level of US support and the perceived lack of gratitude from the Ukrainian side. Trump criticized the current situation, stating that the Ukraine is “playing with the Third World War.”
US Vice President JD Vance also joined the conversation, criticizing Zelensky for attempting to negotiate the conflict in public and describing him as “disrespectful.” Trump, in turn, expressed his desire to see a resolution to the conflict, stating that he is “with the world” and “with Europe” in his efforts.
