US Markets Plummet!

US stock markets declined on Wednesday. The Dow was calculated at 42,635 points at the end of trading in New York, a 0.3% increase compared to the previous trading day.

Minutes earlier, the broader S&P 500 was calculated at around 5,915 points, a 0.1% gain, and the Nasdaq, the technology stock market, calculated the Nasdaq 100 at around 21,179 points, a few points in the plus.

The US Federal Reserve will apparently slow down the reduction of the interest rate in the future. Some members of the leadership body had already spoken out in favor of a rate freeze at the December meeting, as a published meeting protocol from Wednesday shows. The bankers were also concerned in the protocol about the possible effects of the decisions of the designated US President Donald Trump. Without mentioning his name, the protocol expresses concerns that the future migration and trade policies could again fuel inflation.

The European common currency was weaker on Wednesday evening: one euro cost 1.0317 US dollars, and one dollar was worth 0.9693 euros accordingly.

The gold price was able to benefit, with 2,662 US dollars being paid for an ounce in the evening (+0.5%), which corresponds to a price of 82.97 euros per gram.

Meanwhile, the oil price fell significantly: a barrel of the North Sea Brent type cost around 22:00 German time on Wednesday evening at 76.19 US dollars, a decrease of 86 cents or 1.1% compared to the close of the previous trading day.
