As the German parliament prepares to vote on the revised Union’s draft bill to limit immigration, the Green Party’s faction leader, Britta Haßelmann, has accused the Union and FDP of coercion.
“We’ve had conversations all morning and we’re always willing to discuss content, but not from a situation of coercion” Haßelmann told the “Rheinische Post” (Saturday edition). “We’ve assured CDU/CSU and FDP as the Greens and SPD that we will agree to a return of the draft bill to the committees” the Green Party politician added.
“Friedrich Merz and the CDU/CSU must return to the democratic center and rule out any cooperation with the AfD. It seems Friedrich Merz is not willing to do so” Haßelmann further stated.
