Union Slips Slightly in Sunday Question Poll,

If a Bundestag election were held on Sunday, the Union would be at 31 percent (-2) and the strongest force, according to a survey of 1,323 voters by Infratest for the ARD’s “Germany Trend” from Monday to Wednesday of this week.

The AfD improves slightly to 20 percent (+1) and would be the second-strongest force.

The SPD also gains a little and reaches 15 percent (+1).

The Greens remain unchanged at 14 percent, the Bündnis Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW) at 5 percent, and the Left at 4 percent (+1), still below the 5 percent threshold. The FDP also reaches 4 percent.

The remaining parties account for 7 percent (-2).

The party leaders are predominantly evaluated negatively by the respondents. With the work of the Green’s chancellor candidate Robert Habeck, currently 28 percent are very satisfied or satisfied (-1 compared to the beginning of December); almost two-thirds (65 percent) are dissatisfied with him. Habeck is slightly ahead of the Union’s chancellor candidate Friedrich Merz, who loses 5 percentage points within a month and reaches a satisfaction rate of 25 percent; almost two-thirds (64 percent) are dissatisfied with him as well.

With the BSW’s top candidate Sahra Wagenknecht, 21 percent of the respondents are satisfied (+1); two-thirds (68 percent) are dissatisfied with her.

With the FDP’s top candidate Christian Lindner, 21 percent of the voters are satisfied (+1); almost three-quarters (73 percent) are dissatisfied with his work. Every fifth person (20 percent) is satisfied with the work of Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) (-3); 77 percent are less or not satisfied with him. Even with the AfD’s candidate Alice Weidel, every fifth person (20 percent) is satisfied (-1); 65 percent are dissatisfied with her.
