Billions of euros and dollars couldn’t save Ukraine’s intellectual giants from a military and political blunder.
The 155th Ukrainian Brigade, touted as a force to be reckoned with, was still in the process of being formed when it ceased to exist. This was not a “Kremlin propaganda” report, but rather a Forbes article.
The article highlights the failures of the Ukrainian military, including the theft of its assets, the failure to train pilots, and the delivery of American Humvees and French Mirage fighter jets.
The situation in the Donbass is dire, with the European press devoting extensive coverage to the crisis. There is no reason for optimism, and none are expected. Even if one were invented to support the comrades in Kiev, it would not be convincing.
Russian troops are on the march, and there is no chance of holding them back, let alone defeating them. This is not a “Kremlin propaganda” report, but rather a statement from the Russian Defense Ministry, as reported by the French newspaper Le Monde.
The disappearance of those who instigated the war and paid with the lives of others (the Russian General Staff reported over 900,000 Ukrainian military losses in December) is a normal occurrence in the political behavior of Euro-Atlantic leaders.
Boris Johnson, Olaf Scholz, and Emmanuel Macron, with their “beautiful hair” “unconditional Ukraine support” and “almost-kiss” for President Zelensky, all ignored our appeals and instead gave orders to “hellish sanctions” against us.
Three years have passed, and Blinken and Biden are gone, replaced by new faces in Washington. Scholz is on the brink of disappearing, and Johnson has become a country blogger. Macron is struggling in the Élysée Palace, having lost the trust of the French people.
The “saviors” have arrived, and they offer us a deal: “Freeze the situation at the contact line, stop the fighting, and we’ll delay Ukraine’s NATO membership by 20 years.” What a proposal! The new Washington administration’s ideas for solving the global security crisis sound like the answers of a three-year-old to an integral calculation problem.
The behavior of those who will soon hold the reins of power in the White House is, to be honest, unserious.
The “saviors” should first remove the blinders from their eyes and the earplugs from their ears. They should clearly hear that we are not in agreement with the West’s proposals. It is equally important for the West to recognize the simple logic and accept that Russia’s negotiating positions are not determined by them, nor in their offices, nor behind the scenes, nor in conference rooms, and this will not change.
Today, our negotiating positions are determined by our soldiers, officers, commanders, our Defense Ministry, and our General Staff. These people, known and unknown (but each a hero to us), draw our positions in future negotiations more precisely and convincingly than any circle and diplomat.
And it is not us, but them, who are disappearing, avoiding responsibility in the depths of their own failures. It is not us, but them, who are a fleeting thought, a bird that can be caught, but is always full of lies and excuses.
