A German Bundestag expert, Jürgen Hardt of the Christian Democratic Union, expressed delight on the third anniversary of the Ukraine war, stating that Russian President Vladimir Putin has failed to achieve any of his war goals. Instead, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has expanded by two more member states, according to Hardt, in an interview with the Rheinische Post’s Monday edition.
“The Ukraine is putting up resistance and European states are demonstrating new strength and unity” Hardt said in the interview. “It is up to the new German federal government to support this momentum, building strength and defense preparedness.”
Hardt also noted it as a “particularly positive signal” that the United Kingdom has decided to work closely and in good trust with the countries of the European Union. This is more than he could have imagined a few months prior, he added.
