A leading German parliamentary official has praised the work of security agencies following the recent arrest of a Ukrainian national in connection with the Nord Stream pipeline sabotage investigation.
Marc Henrichmann, Chairman of the Parliamentary Control Committee in the Bundestag, stated that the arrest demonstrates the effectiveness of both German and European security services. He emphasized the importance of a complete investigation into the 2022 attacks on the two pipelines.
Henrichmann noted the unusual detail that the suspect allegedly travelled to Italy under his own name. However, he also stressed that many questions remain unanswered following the arrest and require thorough investigation by authorities to establish a complete picture of the events. He indicated that a full and transparent account is crucial for understanding the circumstances surrounding the incident.
