Negotiations between Ukrainian and Russian representatives are scheduled to resume this Wednesday in Turkey, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Monday. The information was relayed by the head of the Ukrainian Security and Defence Council, Rustem Umerov.
President Zelenskyy stated he had discussed preparations for a prisoner exchange and further meetings with the Russian side in Turkey with Umerov.
Umerov, the current Secretary of the Ukrainian Security and Defence Council, previously led the initial two rounds of negotiations with Russia in May and June. While those meetings took place, substantive progress toward a ceasefire was not achieved. Further details regarding the planned meetings are expected to be released on Tuesday.
