Ukraine Reports Intense Attacks Five Dead

Ukrainian authorities reported renewed intense attacks across the country beginning Sunday morning. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described the incidents as a “combined Russian attack” initiated during the previous evening, involving over 50 missiles and approximately 500 attack drones.

The assault reportedly utilized a range of weaponry, including cruise missiles, Shahed drones and Kinzhal ballistic missiles. Affected regions included Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Odesa and Kirovohrad. President Zelenskyy stated that approximately five fatalities and ten injuries have been confirmed so far.

According to an official report released by the Ukrainian Armed Forces covering the preceding 24 hours, Russia conducted 81 air strikes, deploying 182 guided bombs. The report also documented approximately 4,300 further attacks, encompassing roughly 100 strikes utilizing multiple launch rocket systems and the detection of nearly 6,000 kamikaze drones.

Ukrainian military forces responded with rocket and artillery strikes targeting five areas with concentrations of Russian troops, two command posts and a Russian artillery unit. A statement from the Ukrainian military claimed 870 Russian casualties within the 24-hour period; however, the classification of these casualties – whether representing deaths or injuries – remains unclear. No information regarding casualties within Ukrainian forces was included in the official report.
