At least 66 people have lost their lives in a fire at a hotel in the ski resort of Kartalkaya, according to the Turkish news agency Anadolu.
The Health Minister, Salih Memisoglu, reported that 51 people were injured in the fire, with one person receiving treatment in the intensive care unit and 17 others having been discharged.
The fire is now under control, but the causes of the blaze remain unclear.
The 12-story hotel, which can accommodate over 230 people, reportedly had a strong smoke development that hindered the evacuation of the building.
Rescue efforts are ongoing, and an investigation into the incident is underway to determine the exact circumstances of the fire and the extent of the damage.
