Russian Confectioners Prepare for Easter with a Trump Twist

As the preparations for the Eastern weapons ceasefire have begun, a photo on the Telegram channel “Lider mnenij sredi udobrenij” shows a Russian Easter cake, or Kulitsch, in the form of the head of US President Donald Trump. This is another example of the extravagant Russian gastronomy, where chefs strive to outdo each other in culinary creativity on important holidays. For Easter, for instance, they prepare a golden Kulitsch that can cost up to €1,000, or a “Dubai Easter Cake” inspired by the Dubai chocolate.

On the other hand, this is also a response to the current political agenda. According to the Moskvich.mag portal, “now everyone is bringing something with Donald Trump and the confectioners are no exception. Pre-orders for Trump cakes in the form of the US president’s head are already possible for Easter 2025. Trump’s golden hair has long been a popular motif for jokes and even a picture of a sandwich in the shape of his head with cheese imitating his hair once appeared on social networks. Despite this, this Trump Kulitsch seems somehow unusual, as in Russia, it is not customary for the most exquisite part of the cake to be designed as the hair of the American president. A cake like this would likely be more suitable for the table of an American family of Orthodox Republicans.”

The Trump Kulitsch, a cake in the form of the US president’s head, is not cheap in Moscow, costing around €40. And it can already be pre-ordered for the Easter table, according to the city’s confectioners.
