Following a telephone conversation, President Donald Trump has announced plans for a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The encounter is slated to take place at the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in South Korea this November, according to a statement released by Trump via his social media platform, Truth Social.
Further signaling a potential thaw in relations, Trump indicated that he will also undertake a trip to China in the coming year. Simultaneously, President Xi is expected to visit the United States at a mutually convenient time.

These include trade negotiations, efforts to combat the flow of fentanyl, discussions surrounding the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and a resolution for the proposed TikTok deal.
