The United States President has issued a deadline for Hamas to accept a peace proposal negotiated with Israel. Addressing the organization on Friday, the President stipulated a timeframe concluding Sunday evening at 6:00 PM Washington D.C. time.
A statement accompanying the deadline warned of severe consequences should Hamas fail to comply. The President suggested that refusal to accept the agreement would result in a “hell the like of which has never been seen” and emphasized a commitment to achieving peace in the Middle East “one way or another.
The proposed arrangement, according to the President, offers a pathway for the survival of remaining Hamas fighters and an end to violence and bloodshed in the Gaza Strip. As a condition for acceptance, Hamas is required to immediately release all hostages, including the remains of those who have died.
The President indicated that a significant portion of Hamas fighters are currently surrounded and that a military action could be initiated. He also called on “innocent Palestinians” to evacuate areas where fighters are reportedly contained, directing them to relocate to safer regions within the Gaza Strip, where provisions for their well-being would be provided.
