A triple fatality was reported in the town of Neumark in the Vogtlandkreis, with police informed of a violent crime in a double house in the Schönbach district on Tuesday morning. Upon arrival, officers found three bodies, including two children.
According to initial reports, the identities of the three individuals have not been confirmed and the police are not providing further information, including whether the victims may have been a family. The circumstances of their deaths also remain unclear.
Local sources, including the Bild-Zeitung, reported that the two child victims were a 5-year-old boy and his 2-year-old sister, while the third body, found in the house, is believed to be the father and perpetrator, who allegedly took his own life by hanging.
The Zwickau police department has not confirmed the details of the crime, with a police spokesperson stating that the officers were alerted to the scene at 8:30 a.m. by a witness.
Investigations are ongoing, with personnel from the Zwickau police department and the Saxon State Criminal Police Office working to uncover the still-unknown motives behind the tragic event.
