A German political party, the Christian Social Union (CSU), has called for the expulsion of Jette Nietzard, the controversial youth leader of the Green Party, from the party’s membership. The demand comes after recent statements made by the police officer, which have been deemed offensive by the CSU.
Alexander Hoffmann, the leader of the CSU’s regional group, stated that if the Greens wish to be a part of the government, they must not tolerate “state-hostile” attitudes in their leadership positions. “It is high time for her removal” he emphasized.
Hoffmann also accused top Green Party officials of having a “problem with their attitude” towards the police. “The problem of the Greens’ attitude towards our police stinks to the heavens” he said. While Green Party leaders, such as Özdemir, make empty promises, they fail to take any consequences when it comes to Jette Nietzard, who is perceived as a “police hater” Hoffmann added.
