A settlement is in sight regarding how SAP will handle home office in the future, according to the company’s CEO, Christian Klein, who spoke to the Mannheimer Morgen in an interview. “As far as I know, it’s just a matter of a few details, we’re in the final stages” he said. “The campus in Walldorf is filling up with life again, with at least three days of presence per week, we’re finding a good middle ground. This helps with teamwork, communication and joint projects.”

The works council of SAP had refused to accept the stricter attendance requirement and took the case to the Mannheim Labor Court. As part of a settlement, a conciliation committee was set up last year.

The renovation of the SAP headquarters (WDF 01) in Walldorf is reportedly on track, according to the CEO. The project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2027. “It will be bright, with enough space for community work, a large canteen and sufficient room for customers to see the latest technologies. A campus is, after all, a kind of showcase” Klein said.

Additionally, there is a ideas competition to make the campus more attractive. “Among the wishes are, for example, a padel tennis court and areas for outdoor meetings. We’re also considering opening a market where employees can buy fresh fruit and vegetables” Klein said. According to earlier reports, SAP is investing around 219 million euros in the renovation.
