This follows a previous price increase implemented earlier in 2024, which raised the fare from €49 to €58.

The Deutschlandticket has been jointly funded by the federal government and the states at a cost of €1.5 billion each annually, reflecting the understanding that ticket revenue alone is insufficient to cover operational expenses.
