Three Parties Unite in a Historic Deal!

A three-party coalition agreement has been announced by ÖVP, SPÖ and Neos on Thursday morning, following intense negotiations. The historic decision was made public just before 9 am, followed by a planned presentation of the government program at 11 am in the parliament.

The party leaders, Christian Stocker of ÖVP, Andreas Babler of SPÖ and Beate Meinl-Reisinger of Neos, have developed a comprehensive work program, which will serve as the basis for their cooperation in the coming years. The program will be presented to the public at a press conference at 11 am.

The program, titled “Now the Right Thing to Do. For Austria” with over 200 pages, highlights “consensus, pragmatism and confidence” as central values. It includes, among other measures, a seven-year budget sanitation, stricter asylum regulations and rent relief for tenants.

The coalition also references the failed talks between ÖVP and FPÖ. The coalition of conservatives, social democrats and liberals marks a turning point in Austrian politics. The party leaders will take the stage at 11 am to elaborate on the details of their plan.
