45 a.m. emergency call. The authorities believe a single perpetrator is on the run. As reported by the Bild newspaper, the entire town of Weitefeld has been cordoned off.
According to the investigators, there is no current threat to the public, yet residents of Weitefeld and the surrounding area have been advised not to leave their homes. Police spokesperson Jürgen Fachinger stated that one person was seen leaving the premises when the police arrived. At present, the police are investigating a suspected homicide.
“We were informed of a potential violent crime at a residence in Weitefeld through an emergency call this morning at 3:45 a.m.” Fachinger explained. “Upon arrival, our colleagues found three lifeless individuals. When approaching the scene, one person was seen leaving. That is the person we are currently searching for.”
The identities of the victims have not yet been determined and the motives behind the crime are still under investigation. A provisional press center has been set up at the community center in Weitefeld, a town of approximately 2,200 residents in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
