A serious traffic accident on the B189 highway in Brandenburg, between Perleberg and Weisen, resulted in the deaths of three individuals on Saturday. According to a statement released Sunday by the Prignitz Police Inspectorate, the collision involving five vehicles occurred around 4:15 PM. The vehicles involved included two trucks, a motorcycle and two passenger cars. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
The B189 was completely closed following the accident due to significant contamination of the roadway. DEKRA, commissioned by the Neuruppin Public Prosecutor’s Office, has prepared an accident report. All five vehicles involved were rendered inoperable and required extensive recovery operations.
Police investigations are ongoing to determine the precise circumstances surrounding the accident. As of Sunday, the closure of the federal highway remained in effect while cleanup efforts continued.
