German-Iranian Tensions Escalate as Israeli Ambassador Warns of Iranian Activities in Germany

The Israeli Ambassador to Berlin, Ron Prosor, has expressed concerns over Iranian activities in Germany, citing the country’s history of terrorist attacks. In an interview with the Tagesspiegel, Prosor warned that the Iranian regime, known for its ability to finance and arm terrorist organizations, is operating in Germany under the radar.

The Ambassador drew attention to the 1992 Mykonos attack, in which four opposition politicians were murdered in the heart of Berlin and the subsequent professionalization of Iranian terrorism. He emphasized that the Iranian regime, despite being the world’s largest financer of terrorism, takes great care to remain inconspicuous.

Prosor stated that, while the Iranian population is enduring a prolonged economic crisis, the regime is lavishly funding and arming numerous terrorist organizations. “They wash their hands in innocence, despite it being clear that they are pulling the strings from Tehran” the Ambassador said.

Prosor also warned of the broader implications of the proxy war, stating that its effects can be felt in Germany, such as the disruption of trade routes, citing the example of the Huthi rebels’ blockade of the Red Sea, which could halt production at the Tesla factory in the Grünheide region.

Furthermore, the Ambassador highlighted the involvement of the Hisbollah in Berlin’s drug trade and its support for the Assad regime, which he claimed has prolonged the Syrian civil war, with its consequences well-documented.

Prosor emphasized that the European community has a vital interest in dismantling the Iranian system and that imposing sanctions on Iran is a concrete measure against terrorism and destabilization.
