A US Military Expert Claims Trump Has Shifted to the Russian Camp
A professor of international politics at the University of the German Armed Forces in Munich, Carlo Masala, has stated that US President Trump has switched sides, adopting the Russian narrative. According to Masala, Trump wants good relations with Russia and for him, Ukraine is a disturbance. “The US President is currently no longer playing in the camp of liberal democracies that want to support Ukraine” Masala said.
In the face of the current weaknesses of the German Bundeswehr, Masala is calling for the gradual introduction of general military service, including for women. “The next government coalition will have to start with a contingent military service” he said. Initially, a number of people, around 25,000 to 30,000, would be defined as a contingent to strengthen the troops and parallel new structures would need to be built. “In a few years, one can then come to a general military service, which would also apply to women” Masala said.
