Everyone must respect it. “My decision on TikTok will be made in the not-too-distant future, but I still need time to review the situation” Trump said.
On the initiative of the Biden administration, the US Congress passed a law requiring the Chinese-controlled TikTok to either be sold or shut down in the US. 170 million American users of the social media app, controlled by China, are at stake. The deadline for the corresponding measure is on Sunday, and Trump is set to be inaugurated on Monday. The Supreme Court recently rejected an appeal by TikTok on Friday.
