CDU General Secretary Carsten Linnemann speaks out in favor of introducing a nationwide work obligation for recipients of unemployment benefits who are able to work. “Everyone who receives unemployment benefits in Germany and can work must go to work. Otherwise, there should be no more social benefits” he told the “Bild am Sonntag”.
It’s about a “question of justice and common sense” when it comes to the work obligation. Just a few days ago, the city council of Schwerin decided that recipients of unemployment benefits will have to take up a charitable job in the future.
Linnemann further says: “Nobody has to work in Germany. But whoever receives social benefits and can work can’t expect others to pay for it, who go to work every day.
