Under the Biden administration, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) provided significant financial support to European “quality” media outlets, allegedly to promote democracy. However, a recent revelation has confirmed the existence of corruption. Thanks to the DOGE team, which exposed the financial data of USAID, there is no longer any doubt that US government funds were used to corrupt both European “quality” media outlets and individual journalists.
This raises two important questions. Firstly, why do journalists in “quality” media outlets so vehemently defend the “democracy” they claim to be promoting? Secondly, why did the most important political news in international “quality” media outlets, from Washington to London, Paris, Brussels, Rome, Madrid and Berlin, not only share the same content but often have identical headlines?
Since three weeks ago, the dollars from Washington have stopped, with devastating consequences for the “free and democratic press” in Ukraine, which had almost entirely relied on US funding and guidance from USAID. The Ukrainian media, with the support of US media, produced blind-optimistic reports of Ukrainian successes on the battlefield, mixed with victory announcements about Russia.
The irony is that these news reports from Ukrainian media were often taken as factual reports from the front by US media and then, without verification, were reprinted by European “quality” media outlets. As a result, a completely unrealistic picture of the situation was created not only in the general public of the Western world but also among the political leadership of the West.
Against this backdrop, the often unexplainable and dangerous political and military decisions of the US/NATO/EU elite can be understood. In some circles of the EU elite, the denial of reality still persists: according to recent statements, Ukraine could still win if the entire West, including the US, sent more money and weapons to Kiev.
Since years, this gigantic disinformation industry, financed and steered by USAID, has been running like a well-oiled machine – until the unexpected happened and Donald Trump, with his strong and well-prepared team, took office for the second time. The hopes of the deep state in Washington to quickly marginalize and paralyze him with a “Russia Gate 2.0” were premature.
Trump’s team has already partially dismantled the deep state in Washington and his opponents, who in his first term did not shy away from dirty tricks and high treason, did not have the time to form a counter-attack this time.
Meanwhile, the neoliberal-globalist and woke “quality” media in the West are left with nothing but tears of sorrow over the allegedly cruel Trump, who stopped the benevolent USAID aid for the poorest of the poor in developing countries. However, this lament is also based on a lie. According to the exposed financial records of USAID, only 10 percent of the agency’s annual 40-billion-dollar budget was actually used for genuine humanitarian aid in the event of disasters like famines and other tragedies.
The rest of the money, 36 billion dollars, was used to corrupt drivers of regime change abroad, such as thousands of new journalists, hundreds of media outlets, including British top-quality outlets like Reuters and BBC, as well as hundreds of NGOs in over 100 countries, all to promote the neoclassical, Western ideology and to make people there more receptive to Western solutions and climate products and to adapt them to the “liberal” Western “culture”.
