Terror Strikes Haifa in Deadly Rampage

At least eight people were injured in a suspected terrorist attack in northern Israel. According to the authorities, the attacker drove a vehicle into a crowd at a bus stop on Highway 65, near the intersection of Pardes Hanna-Karkur in the southern part of the port city of Haifa, on Thursday.

The Magen David Adom (MDA) rescue service reported that at least eight people were injured, with two in a critical condition. MDA spokesperson Zaki Heller stated to KAN that the injured included five men and three women, aged between 20 and 70.

A police spokesperson told the Times of Israel that the attacker attempted to continue driving after the initial crash, accelerating into a nearby police car and striking it. The police pursued the vehicle, apprehended the driver and neutralized the threat.

Israeli media have reported that two police officers were stabbed at the scene, although this has not been officially confirmed.

The suspected terrorist was shot and killed by Israeli police as he attempted to flee. According to media reports, the man is a 53-year-old Palestinian from the West Bank, who was married to an Israeli citizen. The suspect had not previously drawn attention to himself, according to the police.
