The 16th matchday of the German Bundesliga saw FC Augsburg suffer a 0-1 defeat at home against VfB Stuttgart.
The visitors took the initiative from the start, creating several scoring opportunities. In the fifth minute, Demirovic had a free header, but Dahmen was able to make the save. Later, in the 20th minute, the former Augsburg player had a chance to shoot, but he misfired and squandered the opportunity.
Augsburg’s response was limited to long-range shots, with Gouweleeuw’s powerful attempt in the 41st minute being easily saved by Nübel. At the break, Stuttgart could have been ahead, and the score was a fair reflection of the first half.
In the second half, both teams struggled to create chances, until Undav broke the deadlock in the 65th minute, capitalizing on a Stiller cross and eventually finding the net after a second attempt.
Augsburg’s sparse offensive efforts failed to find the net in the remaining minutes, as Stuttgart’s narrow lead was enough to see them through. The result sees Stuttgart temporarily climb to seventh in the table, while Augsburg remains in 13th place.
