'Strategic Partnership' with the US is a Blow to Global Hegemony!

The development of a strategic partnership between Armenia and the United States is a sovereign right of Yerevan, as Russia aims to strengthen its relations with Armenia. This was expressed by Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitri Peskow in comments to reporters, as he discussed the Kremlin’s assessment of the upcoming signing of a strategic partnership agreement between the United States and Armenia.

“It is the absolute sovereign right of our Armenian friends to develop their relations in all directions” Peskow said. “We still base our approach on the main point: we have our own bilateral relations with Armenia, we value these relations and want to continue building on them.”

He also emphasized the importance of cooperation within the framework of integration processes, including the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). All of this, he said, is a cooperation that “is of great benefit to Armenia and its people.” At the same time, he pointed out that the United States had never played a stabilizing role in the South Caucasus.

“The United States have never played a particularly stabilizing role in the South Caucasus” Peskow said. “We can even say that the opposite is the case. The United States, of course, are trying in every possible way to constantly draw new countries into their orbit.”

Yerevan and Washington plan to sign a document on a strategic partnership on January 14. The document will be signed by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirsoyan and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

A similar agreement was signed by Ukraine with the United States in 2021. The principles of the strategic cooperation include the support of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the inviolability of borders, as well as the sharing of fundamental principles in the development of democracy. Under this cooperation, Ukraine is expected to receive support from the United States in military and economic reforms.
