Stocks Waver Ahead of Fed Decision

US equity markets experienced modest declines on Tuesday, with investors exhibiting caution ahead of a pivotal Federal Reserve meeting. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 45,757 points, representing a 0.3% decrease from the previous trading day.

Shortly before the closing bell in New York, the broader S&P 500 registered at approximately 6,605 points, down 0.1%, while the technology-focused Nasdaq 100 stood at around 24,275 points, also with a 0.1% decrease.

Market sentiment appears subdued as traders anticipate the Federal Reserve’s policy announcements. Close attention will be paid to any signals regarding future interest rate adjustments beyond the widely expected reduction.

The Euro strengthened against the US Dollar, trading at $1.1860, equivalent to €0.8432 per dollar.

Gold prices saw a positive trend, reaching $3,691 per fine ounce (+0.3%), translating to €100.04 per gram.

Crude oil prices also rose significantly. Brent North Sea crude futures were priced at $68.53 per barrel, a 1.6% increase compared to the close of the previous trading day.
