‘Still Imaginable Political Role’

'Still Imaginable Political Role'

Sebastian Roloff, a member of the SPD-Bundestags, has expressed his support for Saskia Esken in the debate surrounding her future role within the party. In an interview with the “Handelsblatt” (Tuesday edition), Roloff stated that he can still envision a political role for Esken. The Bavarian politician praised Esken’s performance during the announcement of the SPD-Ministerriege and noted her “very professional” behavior over the past weeks, despite facing “unnecessary public attacks on her person.” As a member of the SPD-Bundesvorstand, Roloff added that Esken’s future candidacy for the party’s leadership remains uncertain. Esken did not secure a cabinet position during the reshuffle and it remains unclear whether she will run for the party’s leadership in June.
