Berlin, Germany – The AfD has offered the SPD a compromise in the dispute over the distribution of the faction rooms in the German Bundestag, suggesting that the SPD take the name of the Otto-Wels-Saal with it. “The SPD could gladly take the name with it to their new meeting room, as it is not an official naming of the room” said Bernd Baumann, parliamentary business manager of the AfD, to the “Tagesspiegel” (Saturday edition).
Regarding the compromise idea of removing the wall between the FDP and AfD faction rooms, Baumann stated, “A combination of the former FDP room with our current meeting room in the corner tower is, in my opinion, architecturally hard to imagine. A reorganisation of the meeting rooms would be much less time-consuming and, above all, the more frugal solution.
